Little Girl Ghost

My Aunt took me to visit her husband's relative, I think mother. This was a very old house in Maine. It sat off the road, with old trees near it, I believe oak, gnarled with the passage of time. This old house was rather spooky with all the noises it made (settling they claimed). It was also said to be haunted.

Doors would open and close on their own. Lights would turn on and off. You could hear someone coming up the stairs at night, creaking steps giving away their location on the stairs. No one was there though.

At one point, my Aunt was in the kitchen and talking to, I believe her mother-in-law, when the lady said the place was haunted. My Aunt said, "I don't believe in ghosts."

Immediately after she said that, a salt shaker came flying at her from across the room (no one was in the vicinity of it) and hit her in the nose. She never stayed in that house again and convinced her mother-in-law to move and sell the house.

They didn't have any luck selling the house, due to its reputation so decided to take the county up on its offer to purchase it in order to expand the road, which they did do. Thing is, no one thought of the little ghost girl inhabiting the house.

Every year, there are accidents in that exact spot where the house was, claiming at least one life (I've not checked this in a while but it's something I recall from when I lived in Maine).

Just thought I'd share this memory with those that like paranormal stuff. Later on, I'll share about our current house and its unseen residents.

What an interesting dive into the possibilities of paranormal activity within your family. I can't imaging being in a room when an object would levitate or fly across the room on it's own. Not sure what I'd do, after the slight scream. Would you try to talk to the entity, calm it down, or most likely flee?

If I should ever buy any property out in the country, I will thoroughly check it's background history from now on. Amittyville Horror is a perfect example of what land not to build on.

Interesting story, thanks for sharing....now tell us about your current house and the "unseen residents" that are occupying the same space as you?

Well, one night my son decided to leave his computer on recording. It recorded steps on hardwood floor. We have no hardwood floors, it's carpeted in his room.

The big walk in closet in my room spooks everyone. Our cat Poom used to sit in front of it, waiting for us to open it so he could inspect it. Needless to say, I saged that one from time to time.

Another time my other cat who was sleeping at the foot of my bed ended up sailing across the room. No, he couldn't fly on his own.

Doors open, we had to remove the automatic night lights I kept in the kitchen as they kept going on and off. These are the sort of lights that turn on when there is movement.

OMG, what a house you have, so many unexplained events. Have you ever done any research on your house, the land? Thinking Poltergeist here.
