I received Dean Koontz's Innocence as a gift and loved it! I almost couldn't put it down. This was so well written that it played out beautifully in my mind. The scenes were painted in my mind as real as though I was actually there. The characters were alive. From the very start, I was there with the main characters, living their story.
This is not a horror novel. This is a masterpiece of human dignity, human errors and what we hide within, humanity at it's best and worst. No matter what genre you normally read, this book is a must for your library. It will open your eyes to another way to look at humanity and yourself. There is no way you can read this and not come away with a deeper appreciation for what the human race does to each other and to ourselves. We are capable of doing the most despicable things and hiding them away. Then, if a light is shed on them, we try to banish that light so no one can see our innermost vulgarities.

I've always appreciated Dean Koontz's writing style. His depth of his characters and scenes. He's truly outdone himself with this book. It's one that I will re-read as I feel like another reading of it and I'll learn even more and see more of the world he's shown.
